Kavanagh College Girls First XI cricket perform well in T20 Bates Cup

Kavanagh College performed very well in the Bates cup held at Bayfield Park on Tuesday 19 February.
The first game against Queens High School was a very easy win to Kavanagh with our team posting 123 off their 20 overs. Grace Apuwai-Bishop, Emily Hickey and Lauren Pendreigh all scored well. We then bowled Queens out for 62 with Emily Hickey taking 6 wickets.
We then had to play OGHS in the final and, unfortunately, we lost after being 78/4 after our 20 overs. OGHS chased this down in 10 overs giving them a deserved win.
Well done to all the girls, you were awesome . Thanks to Mrs Hickey for acting as manager and scorer.
