Chrism Mass

A beautiful Chrism Mass was celebrated by our Catholic Bishop of Dunedin, Bishop Michael Dooley with Priests, Parish representatives from around our Otago/Southland Diocese, members of the Catholic community and some classes from Trinity Catholic College.
The three Holy Oils (Oils of Catechumens and of the Sick were blessed and the Sacred Oil of Chrism was consecrated) were blessed and distributed for sacramental use around the diocese. Great questions came from the students centred around the purpose of the Holy Oils, the use of Latin phrases, incense, and the three deacons who are to be ordained as priests this year.
During Period 5 today students and staff will be attending a liturgy, based on the 14 Stations of the Cross. This has been a collaborative effort with the Departments of Drama, Music and Religious Education.
Have a blessed Triduum and Easter celebration.
