It's been a very busy term, and this week we have our very First Trinity Day, make sure you come to school to enjoy the day filled with fun activities!!
Holy Trinity day is this week on Sunday. The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity is a liturgical celebration in the Catholic Church that honors the belief in the three persons of the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. It is observed on the Sunday following Pentecost, which is 50 days after Easter. The Trinity is a central doctrine of Christianity, expressing the belief in God's unity and diversity.
Samoa Independence Day is celebrated on the 1st of June each year to commemorate the country's independence. Prior to independence, Samoa was under German rule from 1900 to 1914 and then administered by New Zealand from 1914 to 1962. The struggle for independence gained momentum during the mid-20th century. Samoa Independence Day is a momentous occasion for Samoans to celebrate their nation's freedom and cultural identity. It serves as a reminder of the country's history, progress, and the collective spirit of its people.
The Sacred Heart of Jesus is a devotion within the Catholic Church that focuses on the heart of Jesus Christ as a symbol of His divine love for humanity. It is a prominent and beloved devotion that emphasizes the compassionate and merciful nature of Jesus. The devotion to the Sacred Heart traces its roots back to the early Church, but it gained significant popularity in the 17th century through the visions of Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, a French nun. According to her accounts, Jesus appeared to her and revealed His Sacred Heart, calling for devotion and reparation.
The Presentation Sisters founded by Venerable Nano Nagle have a deep devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
