Year 13 Caritas Challenge
By Beatrice & Charlotte | Posted: Thursday September 19, 2024
Our Trinity Catholic College Year 13 student leaders continue to raise awareness and much needed funds for Caritas.
Kia ora everyone,
This Thursday, a group of Year 13 students are participating in the Live in a Box Caritas Challenge. The Caritas Challenge is an annual event where people around New Zealand get to demonstrate solidarity with those living with poverty or injustice. For our Challenge we are sleeping in a box outside for the night. We will eat only rice for dinner and breakfast and all our water will be collected in a container from a tap in the school.
For more information you can check out the Caritas Challenge website;

We are also fundraising for this challenge. Watch the video attached below to find out how we are raising money! Some amusing responses have been promised if our community gets behind this important fundraising effort.

Prayer
E te Atua, God of love,
We know that everyone needs a home to live in and everyone needs to feel safe. Please help people whose homes have been destroyed because of a war or a disaster. Please help those who no longer feel safe in their own country.
Help us to welcome people who come to Aotearoa looking for a safe place to live. Help us always to remember that these people are your children too. They are our brothers and sisters.
Amen.
Have an amazing weekend!
Charlotte and Beatrice
