Special Olympics a Highlight

By Nicole Lee | Posted: Wednesday March 26, 2025

On Wednesday 26th March Lily McCabe, Edward Ritchie, Jade Boyd, Krystal-Lee Boyd and Owen Hope represented Trinity Catholic College at the Special Olympics Otago Secondary School Athletics event at the sunny Caledonian.

The day included track events, shot put, long jump, and javelin, and our students gained many certificates throughout the day.

A highlight for our students was to have Holly Robinson, a NZ Paralympic athlete, helping out and teaching some skills. The students from Trinity showed great sportsmanship, determination and enjoyed connecting with peers from other secondary schools around the region. We cannot wait for the next Special Olympics tournament we are a part of.

Thank you to the wonderful support staff who encourage and uplift our Trinity Catholic College students across all their endeavours!
