Girls Hockey Report

The girls were handed the challenge of playing a Columba College team on Monday night without captain Sophie Wallis, who is out injured
Several players stepped up and filled the void, none better than Hannah Larson who played her best game in Kavanagh colours.
Sitting at nil all at half time the game was finely balanced, but words of encouragement from coach Lily had the ladies firing.
After a series of penalty corners, a move practised the day before saw Summer Paulin score a cracking goal off Hannah's pass. Brigid Corson made a series of cracking runs, ably supported by Gwen Wilson who fed Paddy Craft who cracked some powerful shots at the Columba goalie, but couldn't slip one past.
Columba surged downfield and in the melee in the circle managed to slide one into the goal. One all was a fair result, with some lessons learnt for this team who continue to grow on a weekly basis.
