Parents' guide to online bullying

We know that online bullying is prevalent and that unlike in the "old days", students can't escape the bully once they get home.
Ideally, we would hope that bullying was non-existent in our school, but we are also realistic enough to know that teenagers are human and make mistakes or impulsive decisions at this vulnerable time of their growth and development. Our approach is to encourage digital citizenship in the same way we encourage citizenship- by living our core values in real life as well as in the online space.
You may want to use the statistics in the image to start a conversation with your child about this common online safety risk. Our online hub has a parent's guide to online bullying and we encourage you to be a safe person for your child to confide in. It contains excellent information on what you can do as a parent.
Some of this bullying happens outside of school time but the lines often blur and we encourage you to contact us if you need our support to work with your child.
