RIP Lyn Osten
By Tracy O'Brien | Posted: Monday March 5, 2018
It is with deep sadness that I advise the College community and wider whanau that Mrs Lyn Osten, a long-term teacher and Year 7 Dean at Kavanagh College passed away last Saturday evening
Lyn went on sick leave and then took medical retirement at the end of last year after receiving a cancer diagnosis.
Lyn was a highly valued colleague and friend who was also held in high regard and affection by students. A number of our current students would have been taught by Lyn in Year 7 or had her as a tutor teacher.
As per her wishes, a private family service has been held. Donations in her name can be made to the Otago Hospice.
A remembrance book is being set up in the main administration area of the College and we welcome all members of the Kavanagh community to come and leave a thought or message. There will be an informal gathering to share stories and comradeship next Friday, 16 March. Details are still being finalised, we will keep you informed.
