Last week we travelled to Auckland for the 3x3 National Basketball Tournament.
We looked forward to this event as it has been cancelled due to covid in previous years. We had an awesome time making new friends with other players from all over the country.
We decided at the start of the tournament to begin each game with a prayer and other Catholic school teams which we versed, joined in with us, which was awesome. It was exciting to represent the name Trinity Catholic College for the first time.
We were able to put our training into play and came away with a few wins, and some close losses!
We want to thank Gerard Mullin who has once again volunteered his time to coaching us and Mrs Tili for giving up her time to manage us. As well as our amazing ex Kavanagh/Trinity students; Piata, Dre and Wilson who have helped to coach us and gave us advice on their experiences.
Our main highlights were creating friendships with other teams and building our team culture on and off the court which contributed to our performance in game. Overall we came away from the tournament with real excitement for the upcoming basketball season!
