Congratulations to all our Trinity Catholic College Miniball teams on a great season of basketball.

Boys Miniball

Our Year 7A and Year 8A Boys Miniball teams competed for the A Grade titles in the Basketball Otago Intermediate Schools Competition on Monday and both came away with fantastic wins. To make it even more impressive, both teams went through the season unbeaten.

It is also a first in the schools history to win the Chris & Miguel Rodriquez Shield for Year 8 Boys. Following the success of our Year 8s last year, it is also the second time in consecutive years that our Year 7 Boys have won the Mohit Rao Shield!

What a fantastic season outcome for our Year 7 & 8 Boys Miniball Teams. Great work Trinity College!

Girls Miniball

Trinity has had three very successful Year 7 & 8 girls basketball teams in 2024. Two of which narrowly missing out on making the finals, but both finished strongly in an incredible 3rd place.

We saw a huge improvement in skill and results over the season with a high percentage of players attending the Trinity Girls basketball Academy. This was clearly linked to the amount of representative success in the BBO set up as their work ethic came to the fore.

Across the teams, the girls worked hard all season on their structure, and with game sense and match awareness being greatly improved. The confidence in the girls went from strength to strength and all worked really well together. This improved confidence allowed the girls to put up more shots, create fast breaks and offer clear presence under the basket. The synergy and respect the girls had for themselves, their teams and the opposition was a credit to them.

We wish all those involved in the BBO set up the very best of luck for the upcoming tournaments

Thanks very much to all of our 7 & 8 girls, you were amazing!
