Mercy Day - McAuley House Celebration
By Staff | Posted: Monday August 14, 2023
Friday, 22 September
Mercy’s story began with Catherine McAuley and two companions and today, it is carried out by hundreds of thousands of people in hospitals, schools and community programs across the globe.
Catherine had been given a vision to build a large, three-story house where the poorest of the city would find mercy. After years of costly planning and construction the new house was built and the work of caring for vulnerable women and children began.
Today, we continue Catherine’s legacy of caring and compassion, not only within Mercy’s hospitals and clinics, but also within our communities where the need remains great.
Students who are in McAuley House can wear blue clothing next Friday, 22nd September.
There will also be a sausage sizzle for McAuley House students.
