Year 13 Trinity Catholic College student represents Otago Open Men's Netball team at National tournament.
Kia ora, My name is Joseph Brennan, and I had the honour of being selected for the open men's Otago netball team. Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to compete in the national competition held in Tauranga, where we faced off against teams from around the country. Despite a mix of wins and losses, we fought our way into the finals by defeating Wellington in a hard-fought semi-final match.
In the championship game, we faced Eastern Pakuranga, and in an intense, nail-biting finish, we claimed victory by a single point, with a final score of 38-37. Lifting the B-grade championship trophy was an unforgettable moment and a true highlight of the tournament.
Another standout memory from the trip was meeting my idol, Junior Levi. Watching the 7-foot New Zealand GS dominate on the court was absolutely inspiring, and meeting him in person made the entire experience even more special. It was an incredible week filled with great competition and unforgettable moments.
