Last week Kavanagh Basketball sent a Senior Boys team and a Senior Girls team to the National 3X3 Tournament in Tauranga.
3x3 Basketball is a fast-growing variation on traditional basketball. It's a skilled, exciting and fast version of Basketball. Kavanagh Senior Boys and Girls participated in the National Championships In Tauranga last week along with close to 100 teams from around the country.
The Kavanagh Boys team was Michael Cordtz, Rick Ma, Cassius Marunui, Ambrose Lee and Gabe Gallagher.
The Kavanagh Girls team was Anita Samasoni, Dre Whaanga, Kyra McEntyre, Annabelle Ring and Libby Renwick.
The teams were looked after by coaches Gerard Mullin and Maine Johnson, and teacher Mike Waterworth.
Both teams performed strongly and represented Kavanagh really well both on and off the court. It was a great opportunity for our players to compete against the very best players and teams in the country. Our girl's team finished in a very credible sixth place and the boy's team competed strongly and finished with a great win.
