Anne Frank's story came to Dunedin this month, with an exhibition on her life, including a replica of her famous diary, at Otago Girls' High School.
Brought to Dunedin from Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, it was a timely opportunity for 10MG and 10HR to deepen their learning on the Holocaust begun during Term 2 in Social Studies.
Students viewed a model of the house Anne Frank's family hid in, saw genuine artifacts from the period, and reflected on the present day significance of Anne's narrative. Finally, they participated in a quiz to which they got all of the answers correct!
Students are now drafting persuasive pieces on how the world can learn from the mistakes of the past.
