Kia ora everyone,

We are now at the end of term 2 and half way through the year!

This week has been enviro week and tomorrow on Friday the enviro group has planned a sustainable cloth non uniform day where you can dress up in sustainable clothes. For example, clothes made from natural materials or clothes from an op shop. Avoid wearing name brands if you can.

As an add on to this, we ask if you could bring along a gold coin donation for this, as Friday is YCC day. YCC Day is a special event where Caritas joins forces with Catholic schools across New Zealand. Together, we stand in solidarity to support a good cause, raising funds and awareness for a selected focus school.

This year Caritas is supporting Holy Trinity School in Papua New Guinea. This school is in desperate need of vital classroom equipment such as desks and chairs, as well as resources like books and writing materials as you can see in the pictures.

YCC can stand for a lot of different things, and maybe you can think of you own reason, some could be; Youth Creating Change; Your Choice of Clothing; Young Catholics Care, there are so many possibilities.

We encourage you to learn more about Caritas and YCC day by visiting their website: https://www.caritas.org.nz/ycc-day

Can't wait to see what amazing sustainable outfits everyone will be wearing!

We wish everyone a restful holidays and we can’t wait to see you next term!
