Year 8 Trips to Toitū

The four Year 8 classes took part in a focussed programme at Toitū to enhance our learning about who we are and where we come from.
We have been delving into the theme of "Ancestry" and how a person's identity is closely linked to where they come from (whakapapa), their experiences (wheako) and where they stand (turangawaewae).
Our trip was a rich experience to help make connections to our past and between each other. Students were engaged and brimming with questions on the walk back and afterwards. It was a worthwhile experience for all involved.
Thank you to the parents who joined us and Kirsten at Toitū who made it an interesting and engaging field trip.
