Kavanagh College was well-represented in this years NZ Chamber Music competition held over 10th and 11th June.
Sophelia Hook's string quartet - Ken and the Barbie Dolls - performed Bagatelles by Antonin Dvorak. The players were a mix from schools as follows: Sophelia Hook (violin Kavanagh College) William Brundell (violin Bayfield High) Nisa Jaafar (cello Columba College) Clare Cocks (piano Columba College). This group were selected for final call back as one of eight groups in the District round, and were awarded Highly Commended.
Sebastian, Ollie, and Sophelia's string trio - Keepin in Trill - performed Sonata for Two Violins and Piano by Darious Milhaud. They played fantastically and received positive feedback from the adjudicator for the sophisticated performance.
This was a huge undertaking and congratulations to all who took part.
