Orbus School Bus Capacity

Some students who don’t normally catch the bus are doing so now while fares are free. While it is positive to see more students trying sustainable travel options, under the level 2 restrictions this is causing a couple of issues:

1.  We are hitting our capacity limits

2.  Students may not be on the school bus register

We would appreciate if students who don’t normally catch the bus could travel via their usual methods to ensure there is capacity for those who do not have any other travel options. 

In particular the number 8 (St Clair/ Normanby) and 14 (Port Chalmers) in both morning and afternoon as well as the afternoon number 77 from town to Mosgiel are reaching capacity and risking students getting left behind.
