Meet our new team
Print Media Prefect: Tom Davis
Hi everyone, my name is Tom Davis, and I feel privileged to serve as the Print Media Prefect at Trinity this year. I’m looking forward to using the role to contribute interesting content through the newsletters, Trinitas, and the 2024 school magazine. Prefect roles are an opportunity for senior students to develop leadership and time management skills required for adult life while giving back to the school that has given them so much.
Prefect actually means ‘put in front’ so let's hear from some other members of this year's prefect team about the roles that they have been given.
Head Girl: Alice Kelsall
Hi all, my name is Alice Kelsall and I am excited to have the privilege of being Head Girl at Trinity Catholic College this year. I came to Trinity from St Clair School, and since then have enjoyed participating in all kinds of different cultural and sporting activities, but particularly playing netball and volleyball.
Although this role is an amazing honour, I hope to work towards creating more opportunities in which everyone feels as though they have the ability to show leadership or create change, regardless of year level, or whether or not they have a prefect role.
Following a successful Athletics Day (go McAuley!!!), I hope to see that same kind of school spirit shown throughout the entire year by the whole school. With all kinds of inter-year level and pastoral class activities and competitions being organised by our prefect team, I hope everyone feels as though they are able to participate and compete to their fullest potential.
Here’s to a year of growth, teamwork, and fun!
Special Character Prefects: Charlotte Harris and Beatrice Schonwald
Hi everyone! We are Charlotte and Beatrice, the 2024 Special Character Prefects. We are super excited for the year ahead and can’t wait to get to know everyone! As Special Character Prefects, we help with a variety of things including masses, chapels, volunteering, and many other events throughout the year. We’re looking forward to an awesome year!
Cultural Prefects: Maliana Todd and Patrick Cotter
Talofa Lava, Malo e lelei and Kia Ora,
Our names are Patrick Cotter and Maliana Todd, and we’re the Cultural Prefects for 2024. We are very excited to be working with you all to promote cultural values throughout the school. As the Cultural Prefects we aspire to support Trinity students to have immense pride in their cultural heritage and identity. We want to increase cultural participation amongst our students and encourage as many as we can to join our wonderful Pasifika and Kapa Haka groups. We can’t wait to meet and get to know you all. Together we will make this a most prosperous year!
“The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of people.”
Arts Prefects: Phoebe Harris and Jeremy Meikle
We are very excited to be the Arts Prefects at Trinity Catholic College this year. Our goal is to encourage the participation of our students in arts activities by providing plenty of opportunities for students to give something a go and advertising arts events frequently throughout the year.
Wellbeing Prefect: Sophie Golden
Hi everyone I’m Sophie, the Wellbeing Prefect for 2024, and I am very excited to be helping the school community this year. Some things that I am wanting to do this year include fundraisers for mental health organisations, as well as Pink Shirt Day and Spirit Week. I am really looking forward to working with everyone and hope that I can help you to help others in making a difference.
Environmental Prefect: Joseph Brennan
Hi, my name is Joseph, and I am your blissful and euphoric Environmental Prefect for 2024. My background is that I arrived at Trinity in Year 7 from our next door neighbour school, St. Joseph's Cathedral. I got straight into the environmental side of our school being a proud member of the small junior enviro squad where we achieved many fun activities that I remember to this day. So come down to our little home above the library and join our Enviro Group community and make some great memories like I did. Ngā mihi nui.
Academic Prefect: Liam Clifford
Hi my name is Liam, and I am this year’s Academic Prefect. My goals are to boost enthusiasm for the academic side of the school and get some peer tutoring sessions underway. I will also be supporting any student who needs help with any study or school work, and generally contributing to the spirit of the Trinity Catholic College community. Thank you and I look forward to working alongside some great people.
Sports Prefect: Aya Oseki
Kia ora koutou. My name is Aya Oseki and I am one of the Sports Prefects for 2024. I came to Trinity in Year 7 from St Brigid’s School and have enjoyed playing and coaching multiple sports throughout my years here. Sport has given me so many awesome memories and friends, and I am excited to hopefully give other students the same positive experiences that I have had!
Nagle House Prefects: Monique Hollis-Pye and Layla Pawsey
Hey everyone, we are Monique and Layla, and we’re excited to be the Nagle House Prefects for 2024! We were both very happy to land this role and have many goals for this year, which include getting everyone more involved in house events, having more house competitions within the junior school, and to continue making Nagle a welcoming and supportive house to be in. We had a great start to the year with Athletics Day and it was awesome to see everyone getting involved in all the different events. We can't wait to see what this year will bring!
Rice House Prefects: Oliver Lodge and Abby Simpson
Our goals for the year are to help create a positive and fun atmosphere. We want to encourage the students in our house to work alongside each other and build a strong team spirit. We are also looking forward to working with the Year 9 Leaders, Mitchell and Ruby, to involve junior students and help them feel supported.
McAuley House Prefects: Anahera Lewis and Aila Armstrong
Hi, our names are Anahera and Aila, and we’re super excited to be the House Prefects for McAuley in 2024. For the first couple weeks we have been trying to get to know people from around our house, using peer support to meet the Year 7s and Athletics Day to bring everyone together. This year we strive to do the best for McAuley while making it as fun as possible for our last year. We are looking forward to the year to come.
Dominic House Prefect: Daisy Jarvie
Kia ora! My name is Daisy Jarvie and I am one of the Dominic House Prefects. I came to Trinity from St Brigid’s and St Bernadette’s. I love sports, especially netball and basketball, and I am looking forward to a great year! Following a fun Athletics Day, I hope to see more school spirit shown through our house competitions. We are hoping to create more opportunities this year for students to gain house points, so l am excited to see all the Year 13s participating.
