The Kavanagh College First XI cricketers had a very good nine wicket win against old foes St Kevin's
The Kavanagh College First XI cricket team travelled to Oamaru on Friday, March 2nd to play St Kevin's in the annual Interschool fixture.
Kavanagh won the toss and elected to field in the 30 over game. Dom Madden was the pick of the bowlers with 4 overs 3 for 14, while the rest of the wickets were shared amongst the other seven bowlers. St Kevin's were dismissed for a paltry 90 in the 30th over.
Kavanagh made short work of the total with openers Nick Parata and Dom Madden, playing in their last interschool, dispatching the bowling with ease. Madden was dismissed late for 32 with Parata making a hard hit 51 not out. Jack Buchan was left 1 not out. Kavanagh winning by nine wickets and ensuring the trip home would be a good one.
Thanks to Nick Parata for supplying some good tunes, most of the time, for the trip back.
