Kia ora te whānau, Talofa, Malo e lei
Congratulations to all those students in the College production, The Addams Family. I thoroughly enjoyed the show, and the high calibre of the performance was a real credit to all those involved. Also, a special thanks to the staff and parents who gave so freely of their time to support the success of the The Addams Family.
I recently had the chance to check in on progress with the refurbishment of the Pompallier Block into the new Trinity Catholic College Arts centre. This refurbishment costing several million dollars is coming along nicely with an expected handover date in term 1 2024.
Ongoing professional learning is an important part of any teacher’s journey. Trinity Catholic College is no different and professional learning and development undertaken this year includes enhancing the capacity of staff within their faculties around more inclusive pedagogies, differentiated teaching and effective feedback strategies. The Education Group from Auckland are also continuing their work with our H.O.D.’s (Heads of Department) on coaching and mentoring. Our recent teacher only day focused on some of the online supports available including Tāhūrangi, which is the Ministry of Education’s new online curriculum hub. They also raised awareness on an excellent Kai Tahu education and teachers’ resources site. A session on tikanga, Marae protocols and Lore was very well received by staff.
Lifelong learning and being open to new information is as important now as always.

I will counsel you with my loving eye on you” Psalm 32:8
