Book Week Donations to Women's Refuge Dunedin

Your generous gold coin donations on Dress as a Book Character Day have been put to good use!
Last term, through the generosity of our school community, we raised $300 for Women's Refuge through our Dress as a Book Character Day.
We believe that books and reading can have a profound impact on individuals and empower communities, so we used the money raised to buy books from Paper Plus for the Women's Refuge houses.
When we mentioned our donations to Jacqui Brenssell at Paper Plus Dunedin, Jacqui very kindly contributed a further two boxes of books, stationery and art supplies!
Last week Maggie and I had the privilege of delivering these donations to the lovely staff at Women's Refuge Dunedin. It was an honour to represent the school community and we hope these books enrich the lives of all who seek out a haven in the Women's Refuge houses.
