2022 has been a crazy year with continued interruptions and restrictions, but despite all of that we have made the most of our opportunities to volunteer and have had some great successes.
We meet most Thursdays as a group and spend time in prayer and sometimes an activity which focuses us on seeing the world through the eyes of others. This leads onto a discussion around the needs in our community and how we can help in that space.
Our social actions this year have included a pet food collection, then followed up with a garden clean up. We sold chocolate brownies and also worked in the shop on George St to raise some funds. Next we supported the mid-winter Christmas Dinner in South Dunedin and also got together with the University students to make about 100 vegan meals for our food bags. Our final activity for this year is a Christmas Food parcel drive where we have encouraged each class to decorate a box Christmas style and fill it full of treats that we can share with people in our community via the Christmas Food Parcels. The food is being handed in on Wednesday October 26th.
