The Role of Privacy within our School's Digital Agreement

Part of our agreement encourages our students to protect their own privacy as well as those around them because privacy online has become quite rare, so we need to consider how we teach digital privacy.
We are working through our year levels via their regular forums to introduce or remind them of our digital agreement which encourages our students to adopt the same behaviours online as they would in 'real life'. At all times, our agreement links back to our real world school values. This agreement can be found on the cybersafety page of our school website.
The latest article from Safe on Social highlights some interesting aspects about the lack of choice that young people have had regarding their privacy and suggests that they now believe privacy is 'old-fashioned'. The article is headlined'We don't care about Privacy' is the biggest lie this generation has been tricked into believing.
It is another provocative read from this website that encourages us as adults to support our young people to understand the digital world in which they spend a large proportion of their lives in.
