During the weekend a group of Year 11 and 13 students headed to Wānaka for a weekend of skiing/snowboarding at Cardrona.
On Friday afternoon a group of Year 11 and Year 13 students bundled into the school vans and headed to Wānaka for an adventure-filled weekend.
It was an early start on Saturday and students were lucky enough to encounter a stunning sunrise as we headed up to Cardrona. A few students headed straight up the mountain exploring runs all over the ski field. A few of the first time skiier/snowboarders started out on the magic carpet attempting to find some control and master their turns in the snow. Everyone had a brilliant attitude and there were lots of smiles, laughs and triumphs.
We celebrated the awesome day on the slopes with dinner in Wānaka before retiring to Lake Hawea campground for some much needed sleep.
Sunday was another great day on the ski fields with many taking the leap onto bigger slopes and doing a fantastic job. All in all a very memorable weekend with a wonderful group of students!
