Netball season is drawing near.

There are a lot of netball notices going out at the moment so here is a place to see everything at once!
All students who are going to play this year should be registered with Dunedin Netball through this link (which is over and beyond any sign-up that you have done through the school). https://www.sporty.co.nz/viewform/220590. Saturday competition begins May 13th. Years 7 & 8 begin Thursday, June 1.
Next Tuesday evening, we have two guests at our netball conditioning session. We have a Steel player coming to help out at our regular Years 9-13 netball conditioning session from 6 - 7 pm. At 7 pm we have a person from Dunedin Netball coming to support our players in their umpiring on Saturdays. This session is highly recommended as many players worry about having to do this. It is designed to build confidence as they learn and understand the rules. It is recommended that they buy their own whistle for the season as well. This session will finish by 8:30 pm.
Years 7 and 8 train under the watchful eye of Lauren Jarvie. They practice on a Wednesday after school from 3:15 pm (changed and ready) until 4:15 pm. Unfortunately, we don't have an inside space so if raining, it will have to be cancelled but if dry, we encourage the players to wrap up warmly. If you have not already signed up for netball and want to, there should be an email to caregivers from Shaun Haig, or you could contact Rachel Mortimer.
We have tried to consolidate all of our netball into one place by building a small website and this includes information for parents, players, and coaches. It is found here. On the page for caregivers, we have a digital code of conduct for all Y9-13 players to complete with their caregiver knowledge. We also have a coach/manager-parent partnership statement which is designed to support our volunteer coaches and managers. We appreciate you taking the time to engage with these documents. As a caregiver, you may be asked to score a game on the app and there is a video with instructions on the manager's page. Your help is appreciated. We will be issuing scoring codes soon.
We look forward to seeing you on the netball sideline soon!
