New Zealand students have among the highest use of digital devices in the world so much reflection needs to go into evaluating both the opportunities and risks to educational outcomes and health/ well-being. Our school promotes the use of Google Classroom as a platform for students to access their class information, particularly if the student is away but not all classes use devices for every period so many students are still getting breaks away from their devices at school. The government policy concerning cellphones has also reduced screentime for students during the day.
