RYDA award for the school!

Our Year 12 students prepare for RYDA each year as part of Thursday Period 1, and then spend a day learning more about Road Safety.
RYDA is a partnership programme where resources are provided for school to work with their students and then it culminates in a one day workshop. Follow up resources are also provided so it is beneficial in that it is not limited to just one day. The aim is to develop active, responsible road citizens.
In 2023, the RYDA day occurred during PPTA strike action days so the school applied for an exemption as we believe it is important for our young people to be exposed to education on road safety.
This action impressed the RYDA organisation who nominated us for this award sponsored by Bridgestone. We were one of two schools who won an award and this was presented to us last week. Sophie, our wellbeing prefect accepted this award on our behalf at a special assembly for senior students.
