NCEA Level 2 with Achievement Standards

Entry Requirement

At least 12 credits from L1 Art or by Art teacher's recommendation

Cost

$50 for supply of materials taken home. The school provides all basic materials needed. Some students may wish to purchase their own higher quality materials which can be purchased through the Art department or Bursar, usually $30-40

All students require one set of high quality brushes, available from the Bursar's office for $12. The brushes will be owned and retained by the students. In addition, at the end of the year, students are charged for panels and tape for the folio- this is approximately $10.

In the Level 2 Practical Art program, students have the option of taking either a Printmaking or Painting course

Painting Course

Internals 

AS 91311 - Use drawing methods to apply knowledge of conventions appropriate to painting - 4 credits

AS 91316 - Develop ideas in a related series of drawing appropriate to established painting - 4 credits

Externals 

AS 91321 - Produce a systematic body of work that shows understanding of art making conventions and ideas within painting  - 12 credits

Printmaking Course

 

Internals 

AS 91313 - Use drawing methods to apply knowledge of conventions appropriate to printmaking - 4 credits

AS 91318 - Develop ideas in a related series of drawing appropriate to established printmaking - 4 credits

Externals 

AS 91323 - Produce a systematic body of work that shows understanding of art making conventions and ideas within  printmaking - 12 credits
